Do you have a link or a source for that "5% of all fatalities in Iraq" comment?
As for your assertion that Osama bin Laden wants US toops bogged down in a civil war between Shiites and Sunnis, you must have missed the President's speech yesterday where he quoted bin Laden on the war in Iraq...
Again, hear the words of bin Laden, in a message to the American people earlier this year. He says: "The war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever."
That sounds more to me like OBL wants to defeat us in Iraq. OBL would much rather have us cut and run so he can set up a caliphate there.
The fact that only 5% of all attacks, fatalities, etc.. is linked to al qaeda has been detailed in numerous political talk shows. i guess the reason you do not know about it cos fox news has not mentioned it.

Like i said before, bin Laden could not have chosen a better enemy to pick a fight with than the morons in the Bush administration. The greatest gift the devil has bestowed on bin Laden is American conservatives.

Look Bonehead, bin Laden would like nothing better than to defeat us. you think he gives a rat's ass whether he defeats us in Iraq, Afghanistan or the sunny beaches of the Bahamas? it's not as if he gets a better kick out of killing an American soldier in Iraq than he would have if he had done it in Cabo San Lucas.

by the way, i'm pretty sure i have heard that 5% number being mentioned on other political talk shows besides Hardball. I guess for someone like you who watches fox news all day long, it's not at all surprising that you're ill-informed.
As for the troop situation, believe it or not, I am in favor of sending in more troops to wipe out the insurgents once and for all. problem is, we need about a few hundred thousand to do that and there is no way to come up with that many without instituting a draft.
Solution? There is none. Withdrawing troops right away is not the solution and adding more toops will only fuel the insurgency, not to mention the latter is not even an option to begin with.
THAT is the quagmire that I am talking about.
