School's Out
DOWNTOWN, NJ -- At last! I'm finally done. No more classes. No more assignments. No more projects. Assuming I passed (probably a good assumption), I will now have my second degree... this one in "Computer Technology". Woo Hoo!
Does this mean I'm a computer whiz kid? Well... no. But at least now I'm officially "more than a novice". I can fix some PCs. I can make some flash movies. I can do AutoCAD. I can do some network stuff. And I got lots of reference books. Yipee! And it only took me about 4 years (nights and weekends).
Feel free to submit your computer questions... I can give bad advice as well as anybody!

Yeah,"Hawkeye the computer expert".
What happened to my comment on yesterday's post?It is gone, lost in cyberspace, rejected and forgotten......and all just before Christmas to boot.
Well congratulations anyhow.I know Mrs.Hawkeye and kids are glad to have you home.Merry Christmas.
:>)
Maggie,
I don't know about yesterday's post, but I do know that you were first back on December 13th Here.
BTW, thanks for the congrats Maggie!
OK, so why does "The Hunger Site" (et al) keep shuttin' down me browser? Huh, huh?!
Camo,
The ScrappleHungry site shuts down your browser?? Or are you referring to www.thehungersite.com?
If you're talking about the latter, there is a pop-up on that page that might be the culprit. Are you using a pop-up blocker? If you use XP's built-in pop-up blocker, you might want to disable it momentarily and see if that helps. Or, you might want to try a different pop-up blocker like Pop-Up Stopper. Or, you might want to use XP's in combo with another.
BTW, what browser and OS are you using.
I found this "?" on the floor. I think it fell off the last post.
Camo,
There's also some JavaScript on www.thehungersite.com which might be another cause. If your pop-up blocker works OK at other sites, we can probably eliminate that as the cause.
Good for you Hawk!!!
I have a question, although it is not computer related. A job I was interviewing for recently asked for my resume. I told them I would go get it out of the car. I went and pushed that "resume" button on the turnsignal arm, but one never came out.
What am I doing wrong?
Mr. Eye®:
Yes, I was referring to The Hunger Site, et al.
But it's only an intermittent problem...
Congrats Hawkeye!
My question: Which do you think is better for my gerbil hard drive; Fit-n-Trim food, or some sort of 'Power' supplement?
RAM, LOL!
Merry Christmas!
RAM,
You need to check your car's printer. It may be low on paper, or the toner cartridge might need to be replaced. Read your owner manual carefully for full details.
Marge,
The best thing is a "Power Supplement", for sure. Amphetamines are good too, but they could lead to a premature failure of the hard drive.
Regards (:D)
Maggie,
I tried sending you an E-mail and I got a delivery failure. What's your new E-mail address? Or do you have one? If you do, send me something at jjprzy(at)patmedia.net
Enjoyed your "ho ho holy cow" flash presentatin. Even funnier since I live in Columbus, Ohio, which once (and forever) was known as "Cow-lumbus" as there were numerous dairy farms surrounding the small city.
Have also enjoyed your many postings on Scrapple.
Have a wonderful Christmas, and congratulations on your graduation.
Now you will be able to REALLY screw up on the computer :>)
Congrats Hawk, Must feel great to have that behind you. Have a joyous Christmas.
Your Little Bro in Ga.
Little Bro in Ga,
Thanks for stoppin' by. Glad to see you poke around some. Wishin' you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Keep those flaps level, straighten up and fly right! Let me know if you need anything, OK?
Best wishes,
Big Bro
Just the Facts,
Thanks! Likewise, have enjoyed your postings on Scrapple. Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
I was wondering about that AUTOcad,is that like Everthink? Congratulations Hawkeye. I will come to you for all my puter problems. How much per hour?
prettyold,
Good one! It does seem like every time Everthink says something... he becomes an Auto CAD, eh?
Actually, AutoCAD is a drawing program used by architects, engineers, etc. to make blueprints and stuff.
CAD = Computer-Aided Drafting
