Looney Liberal of the Week: John Murtha

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week's award goes to John Murtha (D-PA) for giving a speech in which he demands the Bush administration "to immediately redeploy U.S. troops" (i.e., withdraw from Iraq), and "to diplomatically pursue security and stability in Iraq" (i.e., let's talk about it).

Now THERE'S a formula for success... run like scared chickens and then start talking with the enemy about how to "diplomatically" come to terms. Who is this guy anyway and what rock did he crawl out from under? Supposedly he was a former "Pro-Iraq War" guy who suddenly did an about-face. (Do you think maybe the Democratic leadership has some photos of him in an "awkward" position?) Personally, I think he's been watching the polls and decided that it was time to jump on the "Bash-Bush" band wagon. There's nothing more courageous than a guy who waits until a guy is down, and then kicks him in the gut. He's just another shark who "thinks" he smells blood.

Murtha further went on to say that the war in Iraq is "unwinnable". Funny, but I don't get that sense at all from troops on the ground in Iraq. In fact, they report that morale is high, that they have good relations with the Iraqi people, and that they are proud to have helped the Iraqis transition to democracy. One soldier went so far as to say that the average American back home sees far more violence from Iraq on CNN than the typical soldier in Iraq will ever see.

If you absolutely must read Murtha's speech, you can go HERE. But be warned... don't read it if you've just eaten. Here's another example of an idiot who's willing to sell out his country and put the lives our brave heroes in jeopardy. It's OK to pull a stunt like this, because his political future is more important than the future safety of 26 million Iraqis. Idiot!

C'mon Hawkeye, don't hold back, tell us how you REALLY feel!

I agree 100%. Although Murtha's words this week are reprehensable, I'm surprized you didn't pick Slick Willie this week. IMO, his words were treason. Why can't he and Jimmah just SHUT UP!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I think that Murtha is past his "use-by date". Though he seems to be for sale, I think that he's is past his sell-by date, too.
Shouldn't term limits seriously be considered, especially when a Congresscritter demonstrates the loss of judgment that comes with senile dementia?

Doesn't Murtha look like the guy they patterned the "Droopy Dog" character after?

"Hello Joe"

I wish I could do a "mind-meld" with Murtha, ala Star Trek, and make him say, what a coward he thinks Clinton was for dodging the draft, and then see what the Dems would say about him then? I have a feeling he would no longer be the respected war hero they are touting him as now.

Marge,
Too many liberals! Too little time! BTW, thank you... Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Camo,
I'd invite you to move to NJ, but then we ain't got anybody here to brag about at the moment.

OLA,
You got that right. This guy's been around since 1974. Sheesh!... Go HOME already!

RAM,
Perfect! The "Droopy Dog" look-alike! I LOVE it!

Hawkeye -

It would seem that Congressman Murtha has had a change of heart - or perhaps Pelosi and her ilk have gotten to him.

I respect his service and his past relationship with the Pentagon, but the other than having been coerced into selling out I can only think of one viable explanation for his inexplicable act.

Murtha may simply be trying to reopen debate and keep our Troops in the minds (and ballots). But his fellow Democrats are like a pack of rabid hyenas in heat - they think they smell blood and are shooting both barrels.

These suddenly amnesia-riddled and disingenous Congressmen, who hold their political aspirations above their country and will say or do anything to that end, no longer represent us and our ideals at this turning point in history!
