Time To Move?

BLOGGER.COM, Cyberland -- Well, it was just pointed out to me that Google owns Blogger.com.... and hence, is hosting "View From Above". Decisions, decisions. Do I move, or do I stay? I'll give it some thought and get back to you. Thanks for being "Viewers".

That is food for thought. There are other places to get one's blog hosted...just copy the template here and use it elsewhere.

Hawkeye,

Stay and fight them on their own turf and with their own product.

Can anyone say "Implode"?

Did you know that Al Gore is an unpaid consultant to Google®?
(Check out the NewsMax article I referenced at Scrappleface.)

I thought about moving to typepad - especially with what Captain Ed said about spam. But maywe we should take his advise and just complain.

Camo,
It's not as easy as you think. Not all blog hosting services let you have access to the HTML code the way Blogger does.

Maggie & K.Bell,
I am inclined to agree. Since Google is so gosh-darned liberal, maybe we should just use their dime to provide the "fair and balanced" alternative, eh?

onlineanalyst,
No, I didn't know Al Gore was a Google consultant, but then hey... he invented the Internet didn't he? Who better?

Pat'sRick,
Well, I considered Typepad... but it's not free. You get the first 30 days free, but then it's $4.95 a month (or something like that). I've also looked at some other free blog hosting sites, but most don't have all the features of Blogger, or they want you to start paying to get the extra features that I'm now getting for free. Like I said, maybe I will just let Google subsidize me.

Maywe? ...Yes, we may.

I'm inclined to agree with K. Bell; use their own resources against 'em...

I'm staying with blogger.com and using their nickel.

I like conversations with the "Dark Side", we may evnetually "turn" them, just like Darth Vader was turned.

I hope I am not the only old guy that likes "Star Wars?"

In fact I like the military Star Wars even better.

FAR

It appears that kajun subscribes to the "can't we all get along" philosophy that our old troll "progressive" howie promoted. Isn't it great when we all can sit down to negotiate? Let's kumbaya Google® into fair and balanced.

Kajun,
I agree wholeheartedly.

You old geezers always subscribe to Archaeology Magazine.... because you're trying to find your roots!

I subscribe to Smithsonian and Puzzlemania. What does that say about me?

Marge,
IMHO I think it means that people like me are 'puzzled' why such a gem as yourself is not enshrined somewhere like 'the Smithsonian'!
