Kentucky Adopts New License Plates

FRANKFORT, KY -- Goevernor Ernie Fletcher of Kentucky is scheduled to announce a new license plate design at a news conference next Tuesday. Kentuckians wait with baited-breath to see the long-awaited change.

In 2002, then-Governor Paul Patton unveiled a new license plate design for the state of Kentucky. With a smiling sun in the center of the plate, the design immediately came under attack. "It's just TOO cheerful", said many. "It's silly", said others. "The plate makes us look like idiots", said more than a few.

To overcome this perception that Kentucky is a really cheerful place, the new design will feature words that convey a significantly different message. The only problem with the new design is that it leaves no room for the license plate number. Darn!

Modifications to the new design are expected.

Leaking sources close to the Cumberland Gap, tell Kajun News that the new Kentucky license plate design will feature a portrait of Dick Cheney in a red and grey Halliburton truck, in the center of the plate.

Actually what I meant was "bait-breath"... you know, when you go fishin' and you don't catch nuthin' so you eat the bait... and then you end up with "bait breath".... or sumptin' like dat.

Like anchovies on their pizza? I'm one of very few people that I know of who like 'em...so you can call me "bait breath", I guess.

Meanwhile, a high(ly) placed, imaginary secret source in Lansing revealed The Beautiful Governess of Michigan, Jennifer Grandholm's new plates for the Great Lakes State;

Taxed, broke, uneducated, unemployed!

Although unconfirmed in any way, the source also said there's a new program to help fund the state's bankrupt education system: a new after school program to make the plates.

Oops, posted too soon....add on

The children will be supervised by prisoners on work release. The Michigan Chapter of the NEA has approved this measure in a secret imaginary vote.

Wasn't that in a song by John Lennon: "Imagine all the sources... secret and unconfirmed"

Our Governess is worse than your Governess!

While our Governess wasn't looking, we just sneaked enough Republicans into the Legislature to block all her pet TAX INCREASES! (this is how we always write those words in LA.).

Our 'governess' in New Jersey, former Governor Jim McGreevey (I'm GAY, I'm GAY!) was an idiot. Glad to see him go. Just wondering who the next ying-yang will be...
