Are These Men Related?

Special Thanks to RAM for the idea.

Petition: Stop The Madness

If you are as fed up with the Democrats as much as I am by their recent memory-loss, partisan politics, and unpatriotic behavior, please strongly consider signing a petition by clicking on the image below. I thank you, President Bush thanks you, and our troops in harm's way thank you...

Bush Pardons Democrats

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Vigorously attacked in recent weeks by Democrats, President George W. Bush today decided to offer a hand of friendship to the Democratic Party by symbolically pardoning them for their vile lies, shameless partisanship and vitriolic rants against him. "We must a be little a more understanding of these Congressional types", said Bush. "They just can't help themselves".

Looney Liberal of the Week: John Murtha

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week's award goes to John Murtha (D-PA) for giving a speech in which he demands the Bush administration "to immediately redeploy U.S. troops" (i.e., withdraw from Iraq), and "to diplomatically pursue security and stability in Iraq" (i.e., let's talk about it).

Now THERE'S a formula for success... run like scared chickens and then start talking with the enemy about how to "diplomatically" come to terms. Who is this guy anyway and what rock did he crawl out from under? Supposedly he was a former "Pro-Iraq War" guy who suddenly did an about-face. (Do you think maybe the Democratic leadership has some photos of him in an "awkward" position?) Personally, I think he's been watching the polls and decided that it was time to jump on the "Bash-Bush" band wagon. There's nothing more courageous than a guy who waits until a guy is down, and then kicks him in the gut. He's just another shark who "thinks" he smells blood.

Murtha further went on to say that the war in Iraq is "unwinnable". Funny, but I don't get that sense at all from troops on the ground in Iraq. In fact, they report that morale is high, that they have good relations with the Iraqi people, and that they are proud to have helped the Iraqis transition to democracy. One soldier went so far as to say that the average American back home sees far more violence from Iraq on CNN than the typical soldier in Iraq will ever see.

If you absolutely must read Murtha's speech, you can go HERE. But be warned... don't read it if you've just eaten. Here's another example of an idiot who's willing to sell out his country and put the lives our brave heroes in jeopardy. It's OK to pull a stunt like this, because his political future is more important than the future safety of 26 million Iraqis. Idiot!

SP2: A Mystery Story

DOWNTOWN, NJ -- I spent the last few days working on a friend's computer, trying to install Windows Service Pack 2 (SP2). No luck. I mean, we tried almost everything... 1) the normal route, 2) in safe mode, 3) wiped out the hard disk and did a clean install of Windows XP, 4) with the computer's recovery disk, 5) with an off-the-shelf version of Windows XP SP1. Nothing worked. Every time we installed SP2, the computer crashed on reboot or shortly thereafter (blue screen of death).

We followed all the recommendations, like disconnecting from the Internet cable modem, doing spyware scans and defrag beforehand... the whole bit. Ended up putting everything back the way it was with SP1. Computer works OK now. The computer is less than 2 years old. It's an AMD 64-bit chip on an ASUS mother board with plenty of RAM and Hard Disk space. About the only thing we didn't do is go out and buy a new version of Windows XP with SP2 already integrated. Reluctant to find out that might not work either. Totally flabberghasted...

Looney Liberal of the Week: RINOs

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week's award goes to the liberal Congressional RINOs ("Republicans In Name Only") that successfully scuttled the agenda of their own party, by siding with Democrats to remove a proposal for oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) from the deficit-reducing bill now before them. It's bad enough that we have to put up with liberal Democrats, but liberal Republicans are worse.

I mean it's not like there aren't plenty of good reasons to drill for oil in ANWR. Reasons that even "intelligent" Democrats could support. Reasons like:

  • Oil is something we need (DUH!)
  • The American consumer will benefit
  • The American oil companies will benefit
  • Americans will get jobs from the oil companies
  • Economic growth for Americans living near ANWR
  • Less money will go to terrorist, Communist and rogue regimes
  • American national security will be enhanced as a result
  • Increased tax revenue (more people working and paying taxes)
  • Deficit reduction (resulting from the above)
  • Reduction of the international trade deficit

  • So what's not to like? I mean, are we really worried that the caribou population will quadruple like they did when we started oil drilling at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska? God forbid! ...Idiots.

Looney Liberal of the Week: Harry Reid

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week's award goes to Harry Reid. This idiot hijacked the U.S. Senate by calling on a rarely used procedure called Rule 21 to force the Senate into secret session. To make matters worse, Reid invoked the procedure without consulting the Republican leadership prior to doing so... a time-honored tradition. Reid then went on to accuse the Bush administration of misusing CIA intelligence to justify the war in Iraq, and even suggested that the indictment of "Scooter" Libby was proof of a White House cover-up.

Reid's actions were clearly recognized as a "stunt", even by the liberal-biased MSM. The fact that it was reported as such, suggests that even the media felt his action was "over-the-top".

Why did he do it? It should be patently obvious. The recent indictment of "Scooter" Libby had been grabbing all the headlines until President Bush announced Judge Samuel Alito as his nominee for Associate Justice to the U.S. Supreme Court, filling the vacancy being created by the resignation of Sandra Day O'Connor. At that point, Alito was all the talk, and "Scooter" was fading into the background. Reid's stunt was nothing more than a way to try and keep the media's focus on what the Democratic Party leadership is hoping to turn into a black-eye for the Bush administration.

But it appears that Reid's attempt has back-fired. Not only is Libby out of the news (probably until February), but the MSM failed to march to the beat of the DNC drum... no doubt because Reid's antics were so obviously a "stunt". What an idiot!

    Request For Prayers

NO STEENKIN' TOWN, LA -- Kajun, our friend and fellow Scrappler, was recently hospitalized with a stroke. A regular commenter here at the View, as well as at ScrappleFace, Kajun's wit and humor always brings a smile to my face. The articles he posts at his own blog - KajunNews - can be downright side-splitting. We request prayers for his full and speedy recovery, as well as for the peace and well-being of his wife Mrs. Kajun. We also pray for ourselves, that we will not long be deprived of the happiness that Kajun brings us. Amen.
